Job Purpose :
Represent Smart Kids, Inc. as a Community Leader while attending all company created and invited events from other community leaders/partners both in-person and virtually. Scheduling may vary. Smart Kids, Inc. is invited to a lot of community events, partnership meetings, and other events. Position includes social media networking, taking pictures and displaying them on our website and other social media platforms.
Responsibilities:
The Community Event position performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
- Duties vary per event. You will be responsible for helping to set up, work, and break down the materials at each event. You will be the lead for most of the events. If we are attending an event presenting the organization then you will need to present organization information pertaining to our programs.
- You will be responsible for replying to events sent via email and placing them on the calendar and attending the events.
- Take notes at the event and have a meeting with the Executive Director to go over your notes.
- Be prepared to have a flexible schedule due to some events happening after hours and/or on the weekends.
- Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the event starts.
- Please casual clothing. A company t-shirt will be provided when attending outside company events.
- Please be nice, pleasant, and polite to all participants. Assist wherever is needed.

Program Overview
Smart Kids, Inc. is a public 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has developed and operates three flagship programs underneath our umbrella: The Tutor Me Program (TMP), Tutors in the Classroom (TITC), and Explore St. Louis Summer Camp (ESSC). Smart Kids, Inc. was created to help end the repeated cycles of poverty through education and to help our students, our future leaders to become more successful.
The Tutor Me Program's mission is: We are committed to increasing the learning capacity of every child by helping them realize their full potential. The Tutor Me Program provides 1:1 sustainable tutoring and academic support programming to at-risk and low-to-moderate K-12 students in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Through the TMP and (TITC), we provide 1:1 and small group tutoring/mentoring, homework help, charter development, and STEM activities during the school months of September - May. These programs are greatly successful with the help of our Community Partners at Saint Louis University (SLU), University Missouri of St. Louis (UMSL), Webster University, and Washington University. Through our partnerships, we recruit college students that are completing their practicums, field/clinical hours, internships, Co-Op Programs, general volunteer projects in the Department of Education. In addition, we hire students through the Federal Work-Study Program and Sorority/Fraternity projects/programs. College students are recruited as Student Tutors these programs.

- Times varies per event. Most of the events are in the morning but some are in the evening also and weekends. It varies. The event information will be provided two weeks prior to the event takes place.
