Position Overview: Help enhance English Language Learners (ELL) by creating an opportunity to practice English conversation skills in a welcoming & respectful environment.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with library staff to facilitate a virtual English Conversation Club
- Provide discussion topics, encouragement, & constructive feedback
Qualifications:
- Have experience working & speaking in a group setting professionally
- Be respectful of individuals of multicultural & diverse socioeconomic backgrounds
- A solid grasp of the English language
- Familiar with Zoom
Commitments:
- 6 months minimum
- Weekly or bi-weekly 1 hour sessions Saturday evenings

Description
Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.
