Board Member Needed In Uganda

PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is looking for a bold minded, passionate and committed ambassador to be part of the team.

Duties of Board Members

PLANE board member is expected to perform the following:

· Understand the organization’s background, mission, values , policies, programs and needs.

-Read and understand the organization’s financial statements

-Perform the role of active advocates and ambassadors for the organization.

-Fully engage in identifying and establishing the financial resources.

-Establish and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission of promoting empowerment, better general health.

-Influence connections, networks, and resources to develop collective actions geared at realizing the organization’s mission and objectives

- Is willing to give a meaningful personal financial donation or in-kind contribution to the organization quarterly or annually.

-Willing to help identify personal connections that can benefit the organization’s fundraising and image building.

-Participate in board meetings

-Organize meetings for the ambassadors

-Follow the organization’s bylaws, policies, and board resolutions and implement them.

-Maintain confidentiality about all internal matters of the organization

BACKGROUND OF PLANE

PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization, NOT for profit operating in the Kabarole district, Rwenzori region of Uganda, advocating and protecting for children and women’s rights.

PLANE aims at undertaking collective action for promoting general Health and Reproductive Health Awareness Campaigns on Family Planning, HIV/AIDS, malaria, Sexual Gender Based Violence (SGBV), Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), charity campaigns, Youth and Teenage Mothers Empowerment, Girls Matter Mentorship and access for social and health services among others.

In 2018 PLATFORM for the NEEDY scooped an award from Kabarole District local for their outstanding role in creating awareness in the fight against malaria and domestic violence through radio drama and outreach live performance.

Duties of the Board Member:

Our Mission is To promote empowerment programs for better Health, Education and Livelihoods for the disadvantaged populations.

As the highest leadership body of the organization, the board will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

Approving and monitoring the organization’s programs and services

Enhancing the organization’s public image

Determine the mission and objectives of the organizatio

Fundraising and resource development

Selecting and evaluating the performance of the executive Director

Strategic and organizational planning

Ensuring strong oversight and financial management

Assessing the performance of the governing body.
