8by8 is looking for a volunteer Social Media Volunteer to join our existing social media team and assist in content creation and brand growth. We are a volunteer-run nonprofit working to #StopAsianHate at the ballot box, by increasing historically low voter registration and political participation in our Asian communities. Our "8by8 challenge" app will use social engagement and viral marketing to spread the message of voter registration; challengers will invite 8 of their friends to register to vote in 8 days, providing a fun and engaging way to register new voters.

To help market our app, gain new users, and build our brand identity, we are seeking capable and experienced social media volunteers to manage and create aspects of the process and work closely with our other team leads. The role will focus on task execution provided by our social media team lead.

You will:

• Design, build, and maintain our social media presence.
• Research, use social data and analytics to create weekly posts on Instagram
• Monitor key metrics and grow the 8by8 brand across different social media platforms
• Work in collaboration with partner organizations to produce cross-promotion
• Create blog posts
• Execute assigned media tasks

You are:

• Motivated and have strong delegation and management skills
• Excited about the #StopAsianHate cause and 8by8's tech and community based solutions
• At least 2 years of professional experience in social media and brand development
• Enrolled in or obtained a digital marketing, business, or related field bachelor’s degree program.
• Familiar with Facebook and Twitter
