Position & Responsibilities
Role Summary
The Proposal Writing Assistant is responsible for assisting Gammelgarden Museum of Scandia's director and associate director. The position includes researching grant opportunities, writing grant proposals and reports, and gathering and analyzing data and organizational outcomes.

Position Responsibilities
- Research grant opportunities, including funder priorities, recently-funded proposals, requirements, and deadlines
- Communicate with staff to get updates on programs and outcomes
- Assist in writing corporate, foundation, and government letters of inquiry, proposals, and reports
Qualifications & Expectations
Position Qualifications
- Strong professional writing and editing skills, ability to write clearly and persuasively
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Internet research
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently
Time Commitment and Availability
- 5-10 hours per week for 6+ months.

- Supervised by the Executive Director

Mission Statement
Established in 1972 by Elim Lutheran Church to honor the Swedish immigrants who founded the community, Gammelgården Museum of Scandia today celebrates the story of all immigrants to their new land.
Description
Housed in six buildings on the historic gammelgården or old farm where the community of Scandia was first established, Gammelgården encourages visitors to explore their own journey. Through historical, educational, and cultural activities, Gammelgården invites visitors to step back in time and experience the stories of the immigrants as well as to discover new, contemporary bridges.
