Help a child today, for tomorrow

Share your love of reading as an Oasis tutor/reading mentor.
You can change a life by providing the individual attention that helps elementary school children build confidence and experience success.

Oasis works in partnership with local school districts to pair volunteer tutors/reading mentors with children in grades K-5 who teachers feel would benefit from a caring, one-on-one mentoring relationship.

After training and a fingerprint background clearance, we place volunteers with students to read for one hour, one day a week, following the school schedule. Our volunteers are trained to use the Oasis 6-step literacy approach that supports classroom curriculum. Volunteers select books based on the students interest with the goal of getting them "excited" about reading!

One child, one mentor, one school year. Two lives forever changed.
