ViaQuest Hospice is seeking volunteers to share time with our hospice patients. An hour of your time makes a big difference to a patient who simply needs companionship. Volunteers visit with a patient, chat, read, reminisce, watch TV, sing, play or listen to music, accompany patient to facility activities, visit with a registered therapy dog (we have information about registering your dog), deliver birthday cakes/cookies, and more.
Some patients need volunteers for visits for 'caregiver relief' to provide occasional support caregivers to take time for him/herself for appointments, errands or just free time.
Consider sharing a hour or two of your time, a couple times a month or weekly if your schedule allows. What a difference that time makes to our patients and families!
