A chance to use all the best skills from your career in providing wholesome food to hungry families. Challenging and rewarding. Every day is different.
We are an all-volunteer program delivering ~600 bags of fresh, wholesome groceries to the food insecure weekly. All food is donated. The program operates out of two donated garages and has the use of a 17-foot refrigerated truck. You will join an existing team that has been doing this for three years.
With support in learning the role, you will do the following or some ot these:
- Accept deliveries of pallets of fresh food.
- Evaluate how and when to use food or share with other programs.
- Determine processing required to ready for grocery bags.
- Figure out logistics of handling, refrigeration, space of food storage, and timing of use.
- Provide overall supervision to volunteers who help sort, package and bag food.
