Harmony Hospice Volunteer
Volunteers are an integral part of the hospice team, filling roles that range from direct contact with patients to providing administrative support for the organization. Hospice Volunteers often describe their work as gratifying, intellectually stimulating, and emotionally meaningful. If you are looking to give back to your community and take an active role in helping others, then volunteering at Harmony Hospice can be a rewarding experience for you. Whether you choose to provide companionship and support to the patients and families, provide respite, or choose to help in the office with administrative duties, you will be making a difference.
Volunteers are an invaluable part of our team and without volunteers we would not be able to provide the level of care and comfort to our patients for which we are renown. The most valuable skill a volunteer has is the ability to be a compassionate presence. Volunteers increase the quality of life by offering emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.

Description
We at Harmony Hospice focus on quality of life and maximum comfort. We are ready to adapt as the patient's needs evolve. We also serve as a resource for families as they go through their own emotional journeys, make important decisions, and learn how to best care for their loved one during this time. Our hospice program is founded on a TEAM APPROACH. Every member of our staff works together to provide respectful, compassionate medical care and pain management for the individual, as well as emotional and practical support for the family. Our team is comprised of an attending physician, hospice nurse, social worker, home health aide, chaplain, bereavement counselor and trained volunteers. Harmony Hospice is a community-based care provider that offers hospice to terminally ill patients in their preferred locations, including at home, assisted living, hospitals, nursing homes or other settings throughout Rhode Island.
