Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers who are appointed by the Family Court to advocate in the best interest of a child in foster care. CASA volunteers are trained to be a voice for children who are in the foster care system due to abuse or neglect. These children are caught in the tangle of the legal system and need someone to speak up for them. Volunteers make recommendations for the benefit of the child in terms of placement and services.

Passaic County CASA supervises and provides support for volunteers as we work towards the common goal of improving the lives of foster children. Currently, over 500 children are waiting for a volunteer to speak up for them and to ensure that they don't fall between the cracks of the system.
