You will work in a team and be responsible for carrying on research activities, conducting interviews, and creating original content.

The United Nations Association - Northern New Jersey Chapter is dedicated to educating, inspiring, and mobilizing Americans to support the principles and vital work of the United Nations and its agencies.

We are committed to strengthening the United Nations system, promoting constructive United States leadership in that system, and achieving the goals set forth in the UN Charter.

Duties and responsibilities

• Conduct research for interesting news.

• Develop confidential and long-term relationships with news sources.

• Create notes and recordings.

• Conduct, manage, document, and edit interviews.

• Fact-checking the information given by a source.

• Adhere to SEO rules.

• Create, produce, and manage high-quality stories and blog posts.

Requirements and qualifications

• 1 - 2 years of experience as a Journalist preferred.

• Hands on experience in writing and editing.

• In-depth knowledge of interviewing best practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Attention to details.

• Must have the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse population, as well as demonstrate inter-cultural competence.

• Must understand and uphold the United Nations Association Bipartisan outlook.

• MA in Journalism or similar relevant field preferred.
