The United Nations Association of the USA, Northern New Jersey Chapter is a nonprofit membership organization dedicated to building understanding of and support for the ideals and work of the UN among the American people. Its education, policy and advocacy programs emphasize the importance of cooperation among nations and the need for American leadership at the UN. Through discussions, partnerships, and action-oriented initiatives, UNA-NNJ offers its members a platform for education, advocacy, professional development in international affairs, and the opportunity to volunteer in international service. The group consists of diverse professionals from the fields of business, law, public service, healthcare and the media.

The Digital Marketing Communications Specialist will assist with the creation and implementation of effective digital and social media strategies in support of UNA, Northern New Jersey's mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Design content for a range of communications - including: social media posts, website updates and enhancements, marketing emails, e-newsletters, advertisements, and collateral materials - all aimed at driving interest and engagement in UNA, Northern New Jersey Chapter

· Contribute to our repository of high-quality multimedia content

· Create and manage the content pipeline for the chapter's social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and work with the team to ensure it’s in synch with the overall story pipeline and strategy

· Monitor daily social media account interactions and engagement

· Track metrics and prepare reports to 1) inform approach and evolution of efforts and 2) help senior leadership and other audiences understand the impact and the opportunities for enhancements

· Maintain UNA, Northern New Jersey's brand standards

· Train peers on digital best practices and continue to research new trends and best practices in social media marketing

· Work to increase social media following through researched approaches including increasing engagement with other accounts, influencers, etc.

· Attend and cover events (live tweeting, capturing Instagram stories, etc.)

· Work with team to refine project management systems

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong writing and visual skills, with clear evidence of creativity and experience creating strategic, brand-aligned communications

· Video creation and editing skills: familiarity withtools such as Final Cut Pro, iMovie

· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both interpersonally and verbally

· Excellent project management and follow-up skills

· Ability to juggle priorities, stay flexible, and manage projects from inception to completion with minimal supervision

· Self-starter, motivated to develop a first class social media presence

· High energy and positive, proactive attitude

· Strong work ethic and a "growth mindset" - an orientation towards trying new things, innovating.
