We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our team as a Pro Bono Legal Counsel Volunteer. As our legal counsel, you will be responsible for providing legal advice, guidance, and representation to our organization and ensuring that we comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance to our organization on all legal matters, including but not limited to nonprofit corporate law, contracts, compliance, and intellectual property.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, leases, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure that our organization is compliant with all applicable laws and regulations, including tax and corporate filings.
  • Represent our organization in legal proceedings, as necessary.
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders to ensure that our organization operates in accordance with legal and ethical standards.


Requirements:

  • J.D. degree and licensed to practice law in California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on nonprofit corporate law.
  • Knowledge of tax-exempt status and nonprofit corporate law requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Availability to commit to a volunteer role for a minimum of 6 months.

Description

Zenativity, Inc. supervises volunteers (as defined by Title 29 CFR 553.101) and trainees (as defined by Title 29 CFR 541.705) who are planning to attend, admitted to, enrolled at, or graduated from, a degree-granting institutions and participate in supervised training to improve or develop their capabilities (the scientific education of college or university students) to be qualified by education and experience to conduct scientific research in fields requiring an application of science, technology, and methodology.

Results of the Zenativity, Inc.'s research activities are communicated to the public through seminar courses, lectures, and public discussions, and through publications distributed free to depositary libraries.
