Help Seniors with their Smart Phones or Computers

Senior Friendship Centers is looking for volunteers with tech knowledge who can help seniors one-on-one at our Sarasota Activity Center. Seniors drop in during Tech Assistance hours, and volunteers help them learn or trouble shoot issues. Most often this involves smart phone apps. This is a fun opportunity to help seniors in a casual setting. We are looking for someone with an engaging personality and the ability to instruct others who enjoys interacting with seniors.

Location:

• 2350 Scenic Drive, Venice, FL 34293

Schedule:

• Weekly shift on a Wednesday or Friday, 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of smart phone/computer operations and the ability to provide instruction to others.
• Able to reliably commit to a weekly 2-hour drop-in window.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, especially when interacting with seniors.
• Ability to interact professionally with all staff, clients, volunteers, and community partners.
• Friendly, flexible, able to handle challenges, and able to work with limited supervision.
• Must possess cultural awareness and sensitivity for all individuals and groups.
