Greetings from The Ronald McDonald House of Tallahassee: We are seeking individuals or groups in the community to provide meals for our families who are far away from home and staying in our House until their child is released from hospital care. It is the comfort of a home-cooked meal at the end of a stressful day that makes our home-away-from-home enduring to these families. The guidelines for providing a meal a month are simple and easy to follow. Basically, you have two choices. You can come to The Ronald McDonald House and prepare a meal, including an entre, a salad or vegetable and dessert. Or you may order it from a restaurant or grocery store for delivery. Meals should be prepared or delivered by 6 pm for 8-10 people. Another alternative is to provide gift cards from grocery stores so that we can buy the ingredients for and prepare the meal ourselves, or you can pick up some extra ingredients while you are shopping for your household, and drop them off on your way home. Baked items are also appreciated. Cakes, cookies, pies, cobblers and the like that you enjoy preparing would be greatly enjoyed by our families. You may participate once or commit to providing one meal each month to our House and the families that gather together here for solace and comfort.
