The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc. (NANBPWC, Inc.) is a national non-profit organization, founded in 1935, and headquartered in the historic district of Dupont Circle in Washington, DC. The organization emerged in light of the need to promote and protect the interests of women business owners and professionals. In addition, NANBPWC, Inc. encourages youth and young adults to achieve economic independence by joining the rising tide of young people in business today!

Job Description:

To sustain the future of the organization, it is imperative that focus is made on recruiting the next generation of women professionals. We are seeking an experienced membership recruiter to serve on the NANBPWC, Inc. Board of Directors to oversee the jurisdiction of recruiting young adults as members of the organization, utilizing the Marketing Pillar of the National Strategic Plan (NSP). The successful candidate will work closely with and seek guidance from the National Director of Membership and be the liaison between the District Governors and the Executive Committee concerning the management of the project. The successful candidate shall attend monthly virtual meetings and provide a status report on the number(s) of newly recruited young adult members. This is an ex-officio, non-voting, and pro-bono board position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the administration and onboarding of recruited young adult members in conjunction with the Membership Support Specialist to ensure an efficient and timely process.
  • Responsible for actively recruiting young adult business and professional women to meet the organization’s strategic goals.
  • Responsible for developing an action plan to strategically attain corporate sponsorship in support of national young adult initiatives as a key fundraiser in alignment with the NSP.
  • Responsible for working in conjunction with the National Officers to ensure the new direction of the Association in accordance with the NSP.
  • Shall be knowledgeable of the National Bylaws and National Policies & Procedures.
  • Shall serve as a voice and advocate for young adult members to the National Board of Directors.
  • Shall report directly to the National President.

The Scope:

A Young Adult recruit shall be a woman between the ages of 18 to 35 who is preparing for a business or professional career. A Young Adult member shall be a member of a Young Adult Club. Young Adult Clubs shall be comprised of at least seven young adult members. Young Adult Clubs function independently of Adult Clubs.

Requirements:

  • Must be a strong communicator with highly demonstrated written skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable of and highly proficient on all social media platforms.
  • A minimum of a BA or BS degree is preferred or a letter of recommendation from a supervisor or an executive-level manager as verification of experience.
  • Experience working with women’s organizations is a plus.
  • Corporate board member experience is a plus.
  • If a member of the Association must be "a member in good standing".
