JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Volunteer provides Patient supportive services and patient care according to his/her/their experience and thorough training, in compliance with organization policies.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Serves as an integral member of our interdisciplinary group in a variety of settings: home visits/friendly visitor, bereavement and/or administrative & office duties.
  2. With training: Volunteers may also have the opportunity to provide respite in the home support to caregivers and hospice patients.
  3. Meets all health requirements per Huntington Hospice policy
  4. Maintain open communication and report regularly to the Volunteer Coordinator.
  5. Assignment of other duties (as needed) under the direction of the volunteer coordinator.
  6. Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings, as appropriate.

  • We are currently seeking volunteers who are interested in becoming a Friendly Visitor and providing companionship to our hospice patients. Maximum 1-hour commitment per week and we match you with a patient in your area.
