Islander Domestic Violence Resource Project (DVRP)
We envision a world that is free from violence and oppression.
Founded and Led by Survivors of Gender- and Power-Based Violence
For nearly 30 years, DVRP has been at the forefront of providing linguistically and culturally sensitive services to Asian/Pacific Islander (A/PI) survivors of gender- and power-based violence in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. DVRP works with community members, including key stakeholders, by offering trainings and workshops on topics including, cultural humility, trauma-informed and survivor-centered advocacy, and building safe
spaces. Survivors have access to free DVRP-managed direct services such as individual case management, a confidential crisis response hotline, and assistance by professionals versed in 20 A/PI languages. In 2022 alone, DVRP provided training to over 1000 community members and direct services to 240 survivors. DVRP aims to further build its community of individuals dedicated to ending gender- and power-based violence by welcoming applicants for its board of directors. As a board member, you’ll have an opportunity to drive change within the organization, our communities, cultural narratives, and partnerships.
