Even if you don't know the difference between an annual and a perennial, we always need extra hands maintaining our gardens at the Museum of York County.
PURPOSE: Working with a team of staff and volunteers, assist in maintenance of our Carolina Fence Garden, Rain Garden, Butterfly garden, and other areas of beautification on site.
DUTIES: Assists with planning, planting, and maintaining the ornamental gardens
GOAL(S): Beautiful gardens for teaching and ornamental purposes
Groups: This is great opportunity for your organization or family to volunteer together. We are happy to facilitate a Gardening Day for your group to work in our garden. Reach out to Windy Cole at 803-909-7218 or wcole@chmuseums.org if your organization or family would like to volunteer together.
Volunteers are also needed to maintain our trails at the Museum of York County and Historic Brattonsville.

Description
The Culture & Heritage Museums is a family of museums in York County, SC, which includes Historic Brattonsville, the McCelvey Center, the Museum of York County and the Main Street Children's Museum in Old Town Rock Hill.
Historic Brattonsville presents the history of the Scots-Irish and African-Americans in the South Carolina upcountry largely through preserving and interpreting the story of the Bratton community from the 1760s to the late 19th century. Experience living history, including the African American story, at this 775-acre Revolutionary War site. Explore the Bratton Plantation, owned and lived on by three generations of the Bratton family.
Explore the Carolina Piedmont and its connections to the world at the Museum of York County! Our Naturalist Center has more than 2000 specimens to guide your learning adventures. We have a state of the art digital planetarium. We offer award-winning exhibitions and programs on a variety of natural history topics.
