Volunteers will lead students in hands-on activities such as feeding chickens, washing clothes the old fashion way, reading stories, teaching a School House lesson, and/or crafts. Volunteers will be trained prior to starting shifts.

The Heritage Farmstead Museum interprets farm life and agricultural history in the 1890s to see what life was like for the North Texas farmer.

Description

The Heritage Farmstead Museum, located in the heart of Plano, is the premier North Texas museum interpreting farm life and agricultural history. Step back in time to the 1890s to see what life was like for the North Texas farmer. We offer hundreds of school field trips and put on special events during the year. The museum is opened to the public Thursdays - Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.

No prior experience is needed, and training is provided.

  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Request at least 1 shifts per month.
  • Must be comfortable assisting with children. Background check prior to starting onsite training. We encourage volunteers to dress in historic period clothing however it is not mandatory.
