Direct Patient Care volunteers visit with patients to provide support to the patient and family. Volunteers do not provide any type of personal care (toileting, feeding) they are there to provide added support to the patient by providing companionship and friendship. They also provide support to the family by sitting with the patient so the primary caregiver can do shopping, attend appointments or run much needed errands.
