The mission of The Single Mom KC Children’s Ministry program is to surround and support the children of single mothers in a loving, safe environment. We strive to show Christ’s love through our words, actions and programs.
While single moms are in an evening workshop, the children will have fun in our Children's Ministry program.

We need Volunteers in each class; Infant-3 years, Preschool/Kindergarten and 1st-5th grade.

Helpers will care for children, supervise play and assist children with provided activities.

Experienced Volunteers will be there to lead and answer questions.

Dinner will be provided.

We will conduct a background check on all Children's Volunteers age 18 and over.

1 Shift

  • evening / 05:15 PM to 08:15 PM
    Volunteers needed the first Wednesday of each month. One-time & monthly commitments are welcome.

The Mission of The Single Mom KC is to invite single-moms to join us in community by equipping their families and providing resources to be restored into a better story.

Description

The Single Mom KC is a faith-based nonprofit that walks alongside single-moms and their children pouring hope and encouragement into them. The Single Mom KC invites single-moms into a community where they will meet and build friendships with other moms. We do that through our programs such as Pursuit, held the first Wednesday of each month, and several workshops throughout the year such as Victim to Victorious, Raising Victorious Kids, and Healing from Your Heart Wounds. Our programs and workshops center on emotional wholeness, spiritual growth, life management skills and parenting support. We typically offer a free meal with each program and childcare/children's program for infants--5th graders.

The Single Mom KC also offers the Clothed with Dignity Boutique where moms can "shop" at no cost. The boutique is stocked with new and gently used items and offers single-mothers an opportunity shop for clothing, shoes, handbags, jewelry and personal hygiene items. A supervised play area for children is available while moms shop.
