General Description

The Mississippi River is an impressive and historic waterway in Minnesota that flows all the way south into the Gulf of Mexico. The river is an important waterway through our county that unfortunately picks up a lot of trash along the way. Much of the trash will become stuck on the riverbanks of our greenway bike trail. That's where you come in!

We will be cleaning up the shoreline as well as around the bike path and walking trails around Wakota Bridge Trailhead and Boat Launch in South St. Paul. Enjoy the day by the banks of the mighty river and help maintain one of our beautiful county greenways to open the season. All supplies will be provided.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Help pick up garbage and other debris from the riverfront, roadside, parking areas, and trails.
• Weather permitting - spring in MN is always a toss up!

Minimum Qualifications

• Open to all ages, corporate groups, families, etc.
• Supplies will be provided
• If you would like to volunteer as a group (families not included), please contact our Volunteer Coordinator before registering

Minimum Time Commitment

1.5 hours

Activity Level

Medium - May involve varying amounts of activity (long walks, rough terrain, and moderate physical exertion. May not be recommended for volunteers with physical limitations. Comfortable, sturdy shoes recommended.
