NHQ:DCS - Disaster Workforce Readiness - Engagement Study Data Analyst [Short Term Project]

ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services (DCS) department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity. This position will support the Disaster Workforce Readiness Unit (DWR) and work with a cross-functional team to deep dive into current engagement and retention barriers within DCS through data analysis and data visualization.

  • Work with Disaster Workforce Readiness Unit at National Headquarters and project stakeholders to analyze DCS engagement study data, including the DCS volunteer survey results and regional focus group session details.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative data analysis to identify themes and trends to help inform data-driven decisions.
  • Use both Excel and Microsoft PowerBI to conduct data analytics and data visualizations.
  • Analyze data from engagement study to identify possible improvements to DCS workforce-related processes and the DCS volunteer experience.
  • Contribute to creation of reports for national, divisional, and regional levels on survey and focus group session findings.
  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive report for senior DCS leadership of all recommended changes for FY24+.


Required:

  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
  • Experience in using PowerBI for data analytics and data visualization.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Excel for data analytics and data visualizations.
  • Experience in organizing and presenting data findings in an easy-to-understand way.
  • Enthusiasm about identifying program/process improvements and improving the volunteer experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Experience with or ability to learn remote collaboration tools and platforms.
  • Experience with or ability to learn how to work in small teams with shared responsibilities.
  • Willingness to comply with current public health and Red Cross policies.

Length Of Appointment:
Approximately three months (through June 2023).
