The Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN) is excited to announce the launch of the Amigos Sin Fronteras program! The program title, Amigos Sin Fronteras, translates to "Friends Without Borders".

To kickoff this program, AMEXCAN will begin offering in-office, after-school tutoring for K-12 students residing in Pitt County, NC. Tutoring sessions began on Tuesdays March 2023 from 4-5 PM. Location: 1410 S. Evans St., Suite 1-A, Greenville, NC 27834. Tutoring sessions will then occur on subsequent Tuesdays from 4-5 PM for the remainder of the Pitt County Schools calendar (May).

Currently, we are recruiting volunteers to serve as tutors. If you are interested in tutoring, we encourage college students to sign up here. If you have any questions on the form, reach out to our Director of Internship and Volunteers, Jenifer Rodriguez Alvarez, via email at jalvarez@amexcannc.org or internship@amexcannc.org. Our team will reach out to you once you sign up.

Description

In 2001, the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina, Inc. (AMEXCAN), Inc., was established as a volunteer organization with the mission to promote the wellbeing of the Mexican and Latino community as migration from Mexico and other Latin American countries continued to increase rapidly. Majority of our outreach events we host, we recruit volunteers to help with with task such as setting up, distrubuting ppe bags to the community, facilitating games for kids, helping with tutoring, etc.
