Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Volunteer Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and/or Clinician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing behavioral and mental health services to our clients, helping them navigate the complexities of their mental health needs and working towards improving their overall well-being. As a volunteer, you will play a critical role in contributing to our organization's mission and making a lasting impact on the lives of the people we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessing clients' mental health status, identifying risk factors, and developing appropriate treatment plans.
  2. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including case managers, therapists, and other healthcare providers, to ensure the delivery of holistic and client-centered care.
  3. Provide evidence-based psychotherapy and counseling services to clients, addressing a wide range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and addiction.
  4. Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed, ensuring the most effective interventions are being utilized.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of clients' records, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other relevant information.
  6. Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mental health care.
  7. Uphold the organization's values and ethical standards, ensuring the confidentiality and privacy of clients' information.
  8. Provide support and education to clients' families and caregivers, as needed.

Qualifications:

  1. Current and valid licensure as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Clinician in the state of Maryland.
  2. A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a mental health setting, preferably with underserved populations.
  3. Strong knowledge of behavioral and mental health care, including evidence-based treatment modalities and best practices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse populations.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  6. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  7. Commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Street Angel Project Inc.
