Bristol Hospice is seeking volunteers to provide companionship to our hospice patients. Join us in bringing comfort and peace to those facing end of life. Become a regular visitor and a supportive companion to a patient and help make their days brighter. :) Play games, watch TV or movies, listen to music, converse, or just lend an ear as they share stories from their life.
Our patients are located throughout the St Louis county and St Charles county at various care communities and in private homes. We will match and introduce you to a patient in your area. This opportunity is flexible with your schedule.

Description
Bristol Hospice provides hospice services to meet the physical, psycho-social, and spiritual needs of individuals at the end of life. We focus on an individualized plan of care which may include, as appropriate, the following services: nursing, physicians, hospice aides, spiritual support, therapy, dietary, counseling, volunteers, durable medical equipment, supplies, bereavement services and medications related to the terminal illness.
Volunteers are an important part of the hospice model. Volunteers provide special compassionate presence and support to our patients and family in ways that only a volunteer can. When a volunteer visits a patient, they are visiting the patient because they want to be there. It's not a job or an obligation. That is a powerful action for our patients and families!

- We require a year-long volunteer commitment, offering a minimum of 4 hours of your time per month. Our onboarding process includes comprehensive hospice education and training. We also require a background check and tuberculosis test.
