The Teen Student Council (TSC) will work with our organization's leadership to develop sports, arts and education programs for next season (which begins in August 2023). Candidates who are interested in this group will have an abbreviated season (April to June), joining the seven members who started in September. This group will break for July and return in August to serve for the next academic school year. This opportunity can be used for community service at your school.
The group meets on Thursdays from 6pm (via Zoom) to 7pm. There are five slots available for next season. TSC will meet once a month on a Saturday from 2pm to 4pm at the Newark YMCA.
TSC will help with program planning, research, fundraising, event planning and social media campaigns. For the social media campaign section, their in-person meetings will be used to film and/or implement community service projects.
For those who successfully complete the semester, we will serve as a professional reference for them.
Interested candidates are asked to share what school they attend and their current grade when they reach out.

Description
Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
