East Bay Open Studios was established 48 years ago, originally administered and funded by the Alameda County Neighborhood Arts Program (which then evolved to become ProArts), East Bay Open Studios was one of the first of such programs in the country. Since its beginnings, East Bay Open Studios has presented an annual, free and family-friendly, self-guided tour of artist studios and exhibition spaces throughout the East Bay (Alameda and Contra Costa Counties).
Held over multiple weekends, this event connects the public to art where it happens: in unexpected places, at an art gallery, through an art tour, at an artist open studio, or live mural painting. EBOS sustains visual culture and contributes to place-keeping and place-knowing by introducing visitors to various neighborhoods and cultural districts which reflect the diversity of the East Bay. EBOS serves 100's of artists annually representing 12 cities throughout the East Bay. EBOS artists are painters, sculptors, ceramicists, glass and metal workers, jewelry makers and multimedia artists.
East Bay Open Studios 2023 Spring Kick off Event will take place May 12th with a salon-style exhibition of participating artists work.
We are looking for arts enthusiasts to help support setting up, tearing down and checking in registered attendees. There will be plenty of time for volunteers to enjoy the evenings festivities.

Since our beginnings in 2006, Oakland Art Murmur (OAM) has connected thousands of artists in thousands of exhibitions to over 1,000,000 visitors. OAM supports its community by generating not only local, but also regional, national, and international attention to Oakland, providing good-news stories about the city’s thriving art scenes and cultural renaissance.
