ONE DAY EVENT! Sound The Alarm- Grand Forks
ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Minnesota Dakotas Region
Please visit the new page to apply.
The Sound the Alarm program assists community members in preparing for home fires and other disasters. This year Grand Forks, ND was selected as a key location for Sound the Alarm on May 13th, 2023.
Home fires claim seven lives every day in the U.S. - but having working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death in half. Together, we'll meet with local Grand Forks families to install free smoke alarms, help them create a two-minute fire escape plan and share safety information on home fires and other local disaster risks. Sound the Alarm events like these are part of our national Home Fire Fire Campaign, which has saved at least 1,583 lives across the country and installed more than 2.5 million free smoke alarms in high-risk communities like Grand Forks.
Registration is simple!
- The first step is to create a Red Cross ID at volunteerconnection.redcross.org
- The second step is register for the event on May 13th in our shift calendar, https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=vms_registration_viewistration_type_id=12651
