Join an amazing project as we transform the HYC backyard to an inviting space for young adults to gather and enjoy life! The current backyard looks a little sad. However, a few hours of cleanup, a couple coats of paint, and some colorful flowers will give the HYC backyard a new look. You'll help to organize the storage shed, remove old garden boxes, clean and paint concrete containers, plant flowers, and participate in general cleanup of the yard and parking area.

Mission Statement
HYC’s mission is to eliminate barriers to graduation for homeless youth and create lasting solutions for a successful future through community support and increased awareness. Our vision is that homelessness will not limit a youth’s opportunity for a successful future.
Description
There are more than 7,400 homeless youth, grades 9-12, in Arizona. Nationally, 75% of homeless youth drop out of high school. HYC aims to support unhoused youth so they can stay in school and graduate. If a homeless youth does not have to worry about where they are going to sleep that night or where their next meal is coming from, they can focus on staying in school and earning a diploma. HYC serves homeless youth ages 13-21 who are attending local high schools in Maricopa County and Flagstaff, Arizona. Youth are provided with basic necessities, case management, housing, life skills coaching, and opportunities for employment to ensure they have the resources to stay in school, complete their education, and have a chance at a brighter future.
