Are you a young professional living in the New Jersey area? Are you passionate about equitable access to opportunity? Do you believe in the power and promise of a great K-12 education? Are you skilled in project management, networking, and/or event planning?

Please consider becoming a founding member of the Young Professionals Giving Circle !

The Friends of Foundation Academies is forming an all-volunteer planning committee consisting of approximately four members. The committee will develop and launch our first-ever Young Professionals Giving Circle, dedicated to supporting the vision and impact of Foundation Academies, a K-12 public charter school that believes ALL children can succeed when given the education opportunities they deserve.

Who : Anyone is welcome to join the YP Giving Circle, but most members are in the 20- to 35-year-old age range.

What : The YP Giving Circle is a form of participatory philanthropy where individuals pool their donations and collectively decide, in partnership with FA Leadership, how best to support the school. Members will learn about FA, urban education, and opportunities to support access to opportunity in Trenton.

How : Beginning with recruiting approx. 4 YP leaders, develop an outreach plan to recruit at least 25 YP Giving Circle members who will make small monthly donations and meet virtually over the spring to determine where funding can best be applied.

Where : Members meet virtually (though they may decide to host a mixer or outreach initiative this spring to recruit new members)

When: The planning committee will determine the time commitment of committee members as well as Giving Circle members, based on their established goals.

Why : We believe that young leaders in the for-profit, non-profit and academic arenas are an untapped resource in the nonprofit community. We believe that their knowledge, connections, and skills can directly benefit children in our Capital City.
