As an Art & Science in One mentor, you'll work with one Grade 4 or Grade 5 student over five sessions to develop scientific practices of observation, documentation, and communication by keeping a nature journal. Structured, supervised exercises led by the drawing instructor engage a whole classroom of mentor-student pairs during the school day. The classroom teacher and CSV staff coordinator accompany the group on each outing, providing supervision and informal coaching when needed.

The program is designed to deepen student engagement with science through these one-to-one multi-sensory outdoor experiences, with the one-to-one model that enables the experience to be individualized for each student's strengths and interests.
