Do you want to take action to keep toxic materials out of the environment? We need your help at our Home Toxics Center Saturday collection events!
Our Home Toxics Center events allow residents to drop off their household hazardous waste to be properly handled and disposed of. Common items we take in are paint, household cleaners, automotive fluids, and batteries. Volunteers help by unloading materials from residents' vehicles and placing them on carts.
Snacks, protective equipment (goggles, apron, and gloves), and training for all volunteers are provided. Long pants and closed-toe shoes are required. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
You can view a more comprehensive list and learn more about the Washtenaw County Home Toxics Center at washtenaw.org/hometoxics.
You will receive more information and a volunteer waiver in a confirmation email after you sign up.
