Silent Auction Event Helper Position and Objectives: We are looking for silent auction helpers to join us for our upcoming event, happening in Mid-April 2023.
This position is meant to be temporary, however, members can choose to stay active and help out other available committees! We are looking to start meeting now till around April 2023. We will meet once a month and the meetings usually take about 1 hour and are scheduled during the committee's agreed upon time and day. However, we will have a couple more meetings as the event approaches. We are aiming to have our next event around Mid-April 2023. We would love your help!
Main Duties:
- Oversee the auction table at the event and help guest fill out the bidding sheets if needed.
- Help with setting up the auction items and table at the event.
- Help with getting valuable items for the silent auction would be helpful.
- Comfortable keeping track of winners and the amount items are sold for.
- Keep the auction area clean and presentable
No experience needed, let's have fun for a cause!!

Step Up Ventura is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization supported primarily by volunteers and the generosity of private donors and foundations. Given the detrimental effects on development caused by homelessness, we know that young children experiencing homelessness benefit from receiving quality early care, education and therapeutic services. Many barriers limit children's access to these services. Our goal is to provide Ventura County children with quality essential services so they can excel at school and are less likely to experience homelessness as adults.

Step Up Ventura provides children experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness the opportunity to flourish by preparing them for kindergarten.
Description
We are considered a new organization comparitively, since we are about five years going. Started by a grass-roots of 3 professional people who became aware of the gap in educational and social services for the 6 week old to 5 year old child belonging to families that are homeless or at risk to homelessness. Our non profit provides trauma-therapy and one on one attention in the classroom of schools where we are providing the tuition fee for the children to be in daycare. The schools where the children attend, have the hours of 7:00 AM- 6:00 PM, that provide the opportunity for families to be employed or educated.
Today the original social worker in the grass roots group is the executive and program director, working in the office and the classroom, Step Up Ventura would like to expand into other preestablished daycare centers where our program may be implemented.
