Create paper-based decorations for La Feria ATLANTA and learn about flamenco arts.
La Feria ATLANTA is a one-day festival of Spanish arts, classes, and food, set for April 22, 2023 in Roswell. Our VOLUNTEER days for making decorations for La Feria ATLANTA are before the event - March 26 and April 16.
VOLUNTEERS who make decorations will hear about the history of La feria de abril and learn to dance a little bit of sevillanas, while at the crafting sessions.
VOLUNTEERS will make folded paper fans, flowers, and other paper-based crafts, all at the easy and easy-moderate level.
Open to ages 10+
Children must be accompanied by an adult
March 26 and April 16, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Mission Statement
A Través is a non-profit organization (501c3) that connects Flamenco artists from Spain with local American communities in projects that have deep connections and lasting effects through performance and education. Through our work, children and adults in the U.S.A. spend time with singers, dancers, and musicians from southern Spain while learning about language, lifestyle, and themselves, through interactions with people who want to share their artistic heritage. Projects build bridges that will change the future of those who choose to cross them - in both directions.
Description
A Través is not a performing company or school, but a presenter of flamenco programming. We certainly have a vision of how we want to show flamenco in our market, but we do not promote a singular expression of the art form. Showcasing the depth and range of flamenco makes it all the more transformative for American audiences. With this in mind, A Través is the only 501c3 in Georgia that is dedicated 100% to flamenco arts, and we are the only company to work deeply with institutions to create flamenco projects that align with community arts standards, including long-term exit strategies. Our projects introduce new perspectives, encourage curiosity, and increase creativity.
