Independent and primarily self-directed volunteer opportunities and training may be explored by emailing Matthew at m.morassutti@ncrlt.org

Freshwater Farms Reserve Ambassador duties may include:

  • Monitor trail use and user experience
  • Promote and restore biodiversity by managing invasive plants
  • Manage volunteers and support stewardship workdays

About NORTHCOAST REGIONAL LAND TRUST

Location:

PO BOX 398, BAYSIDE, CA 95524, US

Mission Statement

The Northcoast Regional Land Trust is dedicated to the protection and economic viability of working landscapes, farms, forests, and grazing lands and to the preservation and protection of land for its natural, educational, scenic, and historic values. We work with landowners on a voluntary basis to promote stewardship of Northern California’s healthy and productive resource base, natural systems, and quality of life.

Description

The Northcoast Regional Land Trust (NRLT) conserves northwestern California’s ranches, farms, and forestlands, protecting watershed health, wildlife habitat, and the natural resources our communities depend on.

NRLT has permanently protected more than 56,000 acres throughout northwestern California. Most of this land belongs to private landowners and is not open to the public, but we invite you to read about these special properties by exploring the map found on our website. Go to ncrlt.org, and under the "What We Do" dropdown menu, select "Conserved Properties".

Want to get out on a public access trail? Visit our Freshwater Farms Reserve property.

We also host a free field trip program, Cows & Cattails, for local elementary school classes grades 3 to 5. In this program, students are introduced to the scientific method and answer the question, "can farms be part of a healthy environment?"
