Join the team at Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles, a non-profit economic development project of the African People’s Education and Defense Fund, making lasting changes that impact the health, education, human rights and future of the Black community.
Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles sells good quality, donated, used furniture and collectibles at reasonable prices.
We are located on Grand Ave. but have special sales at our warehouse location on Saturdays. The warehouse is located at 2700 International Blvd. in the beautiful Fruitvale neighborhood.
The neighbors have been incredibly supportive and we are very happy to be able to provide high quality, low priced furniture to this community! About the half of the attendees at our warehouse sales are Spanish-speaking. We are looking for Spanish-speaking folks who could help us provide the best assistance for these customers!
No experience is necessary! We will provide you with training and work with you to answer all questions folks may have. But your helpful nature and Spanish-speaking abilities would be very appreciated!

Description
Uhuru Furniture and Collectibles is a non-profit store that is a fundraiser for black community empowerment programs of APEDF. We receive a truck load of donated furniture and household items every day. This is a lively, popular Grand Lake area store staffed mostly by volunteers. When you volunteer at Uhuru Furniture, you not only contribute to the success of the store, you become part of a larger movement for peace through social justice. People shop at Uhuru Furniture for low priced, top quality items and to support crucial programs for social justice for African people.
