ORGANIZATION: The Animal Pad

The Animal Pad all-breed dog rescue is searching for a few more Nursery Foster Coordinators to join our team! TAP's Nursery department encompasses all things mama dog and her puppies, as well as puppies under 8 weeks of age. This team and its Directors act as the main support for fosters who are taking on pregnant dogs, litters, bottle fed or orphaned puppies, as well as any underage puppy who is not yet ready for adoption. Because TAP is a foster-based rescue, our network of amazing fosters are truly the lifeline of everything that we do - they are a huge reason that we're able to do the work that we do, so ensuring they are well-supported is a top priority of ours!

Each of our Nursery Foster Coordinators (NFCs) is assigned to some of our active nursery fosters, keeping in regular contact with them and making sure that both they and their foster pups are adjusting well. Volunteers in this role must be compassionate and people-oriented, willing to handle multiple fosters at a time, comfortable with providing emotional support to their assigned nursery fosters (this is a BIG ONE), have clear communication skills and personal experience with dogs, and have the ability to use Slack as well as check it daily.
NFCs are nursery fosters' primary point of contact, and when being assigned to a TAP foster, will: reach out and introduce themselves to their new foster, make sure their fosters have any supplies they may need while fostering (e.g., food, crate, bed, collar/leash, etc.), and answer any questions or concerns that their foster may have along the way. We always want our fosters (nursery or otherwise) to feel heard and adequately supported, so this is a really crucial role! The main goal overall is ensuring a positive environment in which both mamas and puppies will thrive.

About The Animal Pad

Location:

4620 Avocado Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91941, US

Mission Statement

The Animal Pad is a nonprofit, all-breed dog rescue based in San Diego, CA that focuses on saving dogs from the streets of Mexico and high kill shelters. We get them the vet care they need, place them in foster homes and then find them loving forever families. Our mission is to form a safe space for dogs experiencing crisis and neglect, and to build a community of compassion through education, rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. Our community of volunteers and fosters strives to ensure that all dogs get a fighting chance, and believes that no case is too extreme to be helped - meaning our rescue is full of perfectly imperfect dogs who can’t wait to meet you!

Description

Here at TAP, we give voice to the voiceless and our mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and find them the best homes possible. Founded in 2010, The Animal Pad is volunteer run and funded entirely by donations. We rescue dogs primarily off the streets of Mexico as well as high kill shelters here in California, and provide them full medical care and a loving foster home to heal in before they head to their adoptive home.
