Recruiting Organization: Brooklyn Hospital

The Brooklyn Hospital Center is seeking community minded volunteers who would like to be Patient Advocacy and Access Volunteers to our Out-Patient clients and their family's. The Patient Advocacy and Access Volunteers will be stationed in the Ambulatory Care Out-Patient Clinics and will help patients navigate the clinic, help them access on-line health information, download the hospital's on-line patient portal and help answer general questions that they might have.

Requirements

Friendly and out-going, with a little bit of a thick skin

Systems savvy, able to walk patients through downloading an app and navigate information in the database (volunteers will be trained)

An interest in Community Health, advocacy and Social Work would be a plus, but not required

The Brooklyn Hospital Center has been Helping Keep Brooklyn Healthy for over 175 years. We are committed to serving Brooklyn and Greater New York City. Our hospital is located in historic Downtown Brooklyn. We are near several of the major subway lines.
