ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - National Headquarters

Purpose:

This position supports the National Headquarters (NHQ) Disaster Cycle Services department. This is a 100% virtual (volunteer-from-home) opportunity.

The Public Health Research Intern will support the Long-Term Recovery and Community Preparedness and Resilience Services teams by conducting follow up surveys to residents who have received education from a Red Cross volunteer. The data collected will be used to determine the effectiveness and to identify areas for improvement.

Responsibilities:
  • Make calls to residents 25-45 days after education was delivered and conduct phone or provide email link for survey.
  • Follow script and document answers.
  • Create a report of findings and present it to supervisor at the close of the internship.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Comfortable speaking over the phone and ability to follow a scripted conversation.
  • Reliable access to resources needed to volunteer 100% virtually.

Preferred:

  • Experience with SPSS OR Minitab OR Stata OR SAS/STAT OR JMP
Length Of Appointment:
Internship will run from March 27, 2023 to May 26, 2023
