The volunteer assists or temporarily relieves shelter staff members and performs tasks as assigned. Shelter duties include, but are not limited to, answering telephones and/or hotline, crisis intervention and intake procedures, and face-to-face contact with shelter residents.
Other shifts besides Tuesdays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. may arise, and we will work with your schedule.
Volunteers must pass a background check.

Mission Statement
Turning Point provides crisis intervention services to survivors of domestic abuse and offers violence prevention education in Union and surrounding counties.
Description
Our goal is to provide a safe haven for victims by offering physical and emotional support, while working to prevent and reduce all forms of violence in South Arkansas.
In 2022, we served 81 clients. This is double the amount served in 2021. We received 563 hotline calls. We work to prevent and reduce all forms of violence in our community through prevention education. In 2022, we served prevention education to over 500 students in local schools.
