We have 2 new ways in which our volunteers help with our foster program:
1. In person at our facility in Jefferson Park (JP) during foster training events, spay/neuter days, and with updating bios and photos of cats at JP. 2. Conducting interviews with people who apply to foster with us. This role is remote and can be done from anywhere in the Pacific time zone. Each role has its own requirements which are listed below. In person at our facility in Jefferson Park: - Flexible schedule to help with periodic events AND/OR - Ability to commit to at least 1 day per week (either Thurs, Fri, or Sat) for 2-3 hours.
- Excellent attention to detail is a plus!
Conducting Interviews with Applicants:
- Comfortable talking with people on the phone.
- Good communication and people skills.
- Ability to commit to at least 1-2 hours per week; more is better! (Does not have to be the same day each week.)
- Ability to learn to use our spreadsheet and database (initial training and ongoing support will be provided).

Mission Statement
Stray Cat Alliance educates and empowers communities to advocate for every cat’s right to be safe, healthy, and valued.
Description
Every day, our team works to save the helpless lives of kittens and cats by providing: spay/neuter, trap-neuter-return (TNR), adoptions, wellness care, medical care, and community shelter support.
Our goals are to:
- Eradicate cruelty toward cats through advocacy, rescue, and education.
- Find loving forever homes for cats and kittens taken in through all of our programs.
- Help shelters transform themselves from executioners to safe havens for cats by implementing SCA’s life-saving policies and procedures.
- Educate the community about the plight of freeāroaming cats and empower people to take action to stop population growth through spay and neuter.
- Create and sustain a No-Kill Nation by mentoring other communities to become no kill through our grassroots programs.
Stray Cat Alliance envisions a time when all cats are valued and safe whether in homes or communities, and when shelters serve as temporary safe havens.
