The Grief (Bereavement) Support Volunteer serves as an additional support to the bereavement program, which provides services to grieving families and caregivers during the 13 month period following the death of the hospice patient. Support by the Volunteer may be provide in a variety of ways, including assisting with administrative tasks (such as standard mailings) or facilitating/assisting with a Bereavement Support Group.

Description
The purpose of Gentiva Hospice care is to assist individuals with serious illness to live as fully as possible surrounded by family and friends until the end of life. Hospice programs focus on patient directed care that maximizes comfort and quality of life. Quality of life is also enhanced by program services that support the patient’s family in maintaining the patient in the home.
