Volunteer with TACT

TACT (Trans Advocacy & Care Team) is a growing non-profit initiative that champions the wellbeing of trans and nonbinary individuals. We are trans people helping other trans people to thrive.

We have several virtual volunteer opportunities available! Our peer-facing volunteer positions are available to trans and nonbinary individuals only. Our general volunteer positions are open to all (trans folks + allies)! All of these positions are entirely virtual/ remote and require reliable computer/internet access.

Volunteer Opportunities

Gender Advocate Volunteer(trans and nonbinary folks only)

Gender Advocates are peer counselors who provide compassionate listening and affirming resources to other trans and nonbinary individuals. Are you ready to give back to your trans siblings by supporting them as they navigate their gender congruence journey? This is great experience for individuals in MSW / Counseling / Psychology programs (or who are looking to apply to those programs). This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:

  • 20 hour training program
  • 4 hours per week for 6 months (after training program)


Peer Group Facilitator Volunteer(trans and nonbinary folks only)

Peer Group Facilitators are trans and nonbinary people who facilitate bi-weekly support groups to foster healing and interconnectedness within the trans community. Facilitators create a welcoming and supportive environment for participants to share their stories and build community. ​This is great experience for individuals in MSW / Counseling / Psychology programs (or who are looking to apply to those programs). This is a rewarding experience that requires an intentional time commitment:

  • 4 hour training program
  • 2 hours per week, every other week, for 4-6 months


Resource Specialist Volunteer(open to all!)

Conduct research and gather information to help build our trans resource database. This position relies on independent research skills as well as database / spreadsheet know-how. You'll be helping to build a nationwide database of resources to help trans and nonbinary folks get access to the care and services they need to thrive! This is great experience for individuals in MPH / MSW programs or who are looking to apply to MPH / MSW programs.

5 hours per week (virtual/remote)


Action & Outreach Volunteer(open to all!)

Attend weekly action hours and help us expand our impact! This is a high impact position. If you only have an hour or so to spare each week, but want to make a real impact on trans wellbeing by helping out organization expand, this is a perfect position for you! Great for anyone looking to help build a more supportive world for trans and nonbinary people.
