ORGANIZATION: ProMedica Hospice

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional care to terminally ill patients and families. Our hospice program utilizes a team approach to include physicians, nurses, hospice aides, social workers, spiritual counselors and VOLUNTEERS. As a hospice volunteer you will be oriented to the hospice program You can donate as much or little of your time as desired. The duties of our volunteers vary. Volunteers offer support, companionship and practical compassionate help. Some volunteers interact directly with the patient and family, reading or providing a comforting touch, playing cards, singing, running errands while some prefer to work behind the scenes helping in the office.
