Help Parks staff in keeping Sanderford Park clean and beautiful at this litter cleanup for Earth Day! Volunteers will target hot spots around the park and dispose of trash in nearby dumpsters/bins. Improperly discarded trash, and litter, is a serious environmental hazard. It pollutes the water we use and depend on, it has the potential to cause injury to wildlife, and it is simply an eyesore. By removing litter, we can help provide a healthier environment for wildlife and citizens to enjoy.

Duties:

Volunteers will help remove litter from Sanderford Park with trash bags and pickup sticks. Cleanup supplies will be provided

Work Environment:

Volunteers will be working outdoors on uneven terrain. There will be restrooms on site.

Requirements:

  • All ages welcome. Those under 16 must have a parent/guardian present
  • Up-to-date release form. Those under 18 will need a parent/guardian signature

Other Instructions:

  • Wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing
  • Wear close-toed shoes such as sneakers or hiking boots
  • Bring your own filled water bottle
  • Additional details about parking and trash disposal will be emailed to all registered volunteers

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
