Project Overview
Join us on Saturday, April 1st for a tree planting and maintenance workday in the Historic Orchard at the Guadalupe River Park Conservancy in San Jose! Tasks may include tree planting, mulching, fruit tree care, minor infrastructure repair, tree pruning, and other tasks as necessary.
This volunteer event is hosted in partnership with California Climate Action Corps, a program of California Volunteers, Office of the Governor in honor of National Volunteer Month.
Guadalupe River Park Conservancy
Guadalupe River Park & Gardens is a three-mile ribbon of park land that runs along the banks of the Guadalupe River in the heart of downtown San Jose. It is a resource of regional importance to the people of Santa Clara County and the Bay Area. In the dense urban environment of downtown San Jose, the trails, parks and plazas of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens not only serve to enjoy and preserve natural ecology, they offer residents and visitors a multitude of ways to recreate, relax, discover and enjoy.
Project Requirements & Important Notes
Volunteers must wear closed toe shoe and comfortable clothing.
Volunteers should bring water, sun protection, layers, and snacks.
Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a chaperone. Youth aged 16+ are able to volunteer on their own with a signed parental consent form.

Description
The Guadalupe River Park Conservancy provides community leadership for the development and active use of the Guadalupe River Park & Gardens through education, advocacy and stewardship. Past efforts by the Conservancy contributed to collaboration among government agencies and community interest groups seeking to solve problems related to the Guadalupe River flood control project. The Conservancy is continually involved in completing the master plans for both the park and gardens, creating educational programs, promoting awareness of the Park & Gardens, and developing membership and volunteer opportunities to increase public support and involvement.
