Virtually Interview Adult Online Learning Students!

FareStart’s Adult Learning Program is virtual! We need your help to provide additional virtual mock interview practice to our students so that they are prepared for interviewing in this constantly evolving job market. Virtual Mock Interview volunteers will interview students in weeks 4 and 5 of training and provide feedback to students and staff so they can apply it to future interview opportunities.

DUTIES

  • Ability to work one-on-one with students in a virtual setting
  • Review resumes in advanced and prepare applicable questions
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with students and uphold boundaries in a virtual setting
  • Clear and timely communication with staff about meeting times and student progress, including thoroughly completed feedback forms returned within the day of interviews

TIME COMMITMENT AND LOCATION
All interviews will take place via Zoom virtual meeting platform utilizing breakout rooms. Volunteers will be contacted in advanced with resumes and call-in information for their upcoming interviews.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Please note that Background Checks may take up to two weeks for approval & Level 2 Training only occurs once a month.

  • Experience in recruiting, HR or experience managing/hiring staff
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to give constructive feedback and insightful interviewing tips
  • Expertise in resume and cover letter creation
  • Understanding of our students’ barriers to employment and expected boundaries
  • Access to personal computer with camera and microphone capabilities
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Completed Background Check
  • Level 2 Training: Adult Culinary Mock Interviews

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Reflective of students: BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and/or experience with barriers to employment
