The Hydraulic Canal in Hamilton is bordered by the bike trail, a bird sanctuary, and the North End neighborhood. A bunch of trash gets dumped there, with a lot ending up in the bird sanctuary. Our goal is to remove as much trash as possible, helping to improve water quality and habitat for local wildlife.

The plan is to break into groups and tackle trash

  1. Along Joe Nuxhall Blvd

  2. Along Canal Rd and Campbell Dr

  3. In the bird Sanctuary opposite Morey Ave

  4. Along the canal in LJ Smith Park

We will have bags, grabbers, gloves, and sanitizer.

We hope you can join us to improve water quality and habitat for local wildlife.

If you have not completed our waiver in 2023, it will need to be completed before any service hours are gained. We will have copies at the event, however if you are under 18, you will need to bring a signed copy with you. It can be found at https://www.butlerswcd.org/volunteer
